Pointers Run unveils students' wall mural during 20th anniversary celebration

Pointers Run Elementary School fourth-grader Ellie Matthews approached the 32-foot-long mural and searched among the more than 600 glazed clay portraits for her place in posterity. "I'm over here," said Ellie, who was among the Pointers Run students, faculty and staff who created the permanent mural that was unveiled Wednesday at the Clarksville school's 20th-anniversary celebration.

Berlin's Buckingham Elementary School working on mural celebrating town

A group of students surround Amanda Pellerin as she explains how to paint vibrant colors onto clay. She explains her "dip, dip, dab" method, showing the students not to run paint brushes over the clay, but instead to dab to avoid getting clay in the paintbrush. The third grade class is listening intently and preparing to put the painting method to use as they head back to their desks to color in clay designs of buildings and trains.
